|The studio which was red in the “new harbour”
Red is a color which exists for everybody, everywhere. It is an obvious color. In clothes, in tableware. In national flags, in buildings. Red is also the color of blood, so animals must perceive red as red. When I use red in my works, of course there is the perception of red as being red, but it is more about what I feel looking at the work, about the impressions and emotions I would like people to have. It is precisely because it is a color about which you can simply say “it’s red !” that I feel freedom in it.
